Joyfully Announcing

When our baby girl was born, we wanted to announce her in style. Who wouldn't? But I'll be honest, we didn't have the budget to produce ultra thick, custom letterpress, multi-page, hand-stitched announcements sent by stork to each recipient. Besides, that would be a tad much.

So, I got out the pencil and paper and drew her name and illustrated a little banner.

And with the help of my talented sister who converted that into a digital file, and my generous friend who had recently purchased the mac daddy of all ink jet printers, we were able to create announcements for less than a dollar each.

To complete the package, I calligraphed coordinating envelopes. Pink-on-pink with diagonal text to keep things interesting.

Behold, our beautiful baby:

Charming, right?

I'll admit it's pretty girly, but I just couldn't resist. What other time do you get carte blanche to create something so feminine than with the birth of a baby girl? I had to seize the opportunity.

And for those who are curious...here are the ingredients:

2 | Paper-Source A7 envelopes in Blossom
3 | MPix wallet prints  with rounded corners
4 | Bodoni at Home free downloadable font
